New NYS Legislation Requires State-Regulated Health Insurers to Cover Autism Diagnoses & Treatments… FOR LIFE
In November of 2011, Governor Cuomo signed the law requiring health insurance providers to offer coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). That law goes into effect November 1, 2012, opening the door for families to obtain services that have previously not been covered. New York was the 29th state in the country to enact such legislation.
